Afyon White Marble
Afyon White Marble – The Legendary Semi-Translucent White Stone of Turkey
Afyon White Marble is one of the world’s most historic natural stones, quarried in Afyonkarahisar (İscehisar), Turkey for more than 2,500 years and known internationally as “Afyon White” or “Afyon Sugar”. Unlike the cooler whites of Muğla or Marmara marble, Afyon White offers the warmest, creamiest tone of white — a porcelain-like, semi-translucent crystalline texture that softly filters light.
From ancient temples and Ottoman palaces to modern minimalist bathrooms and classic Turkish hammam design, this marble has always stood for traditional luxury and hygiene. With the right selection it does not yellow over time; it grows brighter with use, holds its value and never goes out of fashion — a truly timeless investment.
MarbleLink — a Turkish natural stone manufacturer and exporter based in Istanbul, with its own quarries, 20+ years of experience and exports to 180+ countries — supplies Afyon White Marble as blocks, slabs, tiles and cut-to-size. In our workshops we also carve solid Afyon marble into one-piece basins, hammam kurnas and backlit bar counters.
Why Afyon White?
Historic Value: quarried for 2,500 years, it ranks among the finest white marbles on earth.
Translucency: when cut thin (especially the Bal/Sugar selections), it transmits light with an onyx-like glow.
Hygiene: its dense, non-porous structure resists bacteria — the reason it is the classic stone of Turkish baths.
